Join Our Team
Volunteers are the lifeblood of the International Horsemanship Foundation. We recognizes three levels of volunteers: team leaders, long-term volunteers and short-term volunteers.
Team Leaders:
Team leaders are volunteers who lead a particular team such as programs, administration, or marketing. Team leaders may work with our without other volunteers.
Long-term Volunteers:
Long term volunteers take on tasks for an indefinite period of time. Some stay with us for years and may move into different roles as time goes by.
Short-term Volunteers:
Short term volunteers may sign on for a specific project or event. Some short-term volunteers become long-term volunteers. Others leave when the project or event completes. Short-term volunteers do not need to go through the on-boarding process described below.
If you have an interest in joining our volunteer team and have questions, please contact us.
How Team Leaders and Long-term Volunteers brought on board:
To be selected and assigned tasks, volunteers must first go through the following process:
- Applicant fills out a volunteer application and supplies a resume and references.
- Applicant references are checked.
- Upon approval, applicant is asked to sign a volunteer agreement.
- Volunteer is sent welcome documents including a volunteer handbook.
- Volunteer is added to volunteer time tracking.
- Volunteer is assigned tasks and receives training for the tasks.
All volunteers except short-term volunteers must go through this process.
Volunteering is a great way to become a true part of the International Horsemanship Foundation experience. We thank you for your interest and your time!
