Our Origin

The International Horsemanship Foundation was formed from two established nonprofits, the Parelli Foundation and the International Horsemanship Association, combining the offerings of both nonprofits.

The  Parelli Foundation was created in 2012 by the inspiration of Linda and Pat Parelli.  It has provided over $800,000 in grants and scholarships for its four program areas: Therapeutic Horsemanship, Horse Welfare, Career Scholarships, and Youth Scholarships.  The International Horsemanship Foundation will be continuing these offerings.

The International Horsemanship Association was created in 2017 to provide a platform for uniting excellent Relationship-Based Horsemanship.  It has provided education, podcasts, community forums, instructor listings, online courses, and more.  These functions will continue with the International Horsemanship Foundation.
